Terms of service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Pluged AI ("we", "us", "our") covering the pluged.ai website and the Pluged AI editor at app.pluged.ai (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Accounts

• Some features require an account, created via Google sign-in. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (at least 13, and the age of digital consent where you live) to use an account.
• Keep your Google account secure; tell us of any misuse.

3. Your content & rights

You own the content you create. We claim no ownership of your projects, uploads, or exports. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Service — for example, to store your project, and to transmit content you choose to process to our third-party AI providers so they can return your requested result.

• You are responsible for the content you upload and must have all necessary rights, licences, and permissions for it.
• You are responsible for how you use your exports, including clearing rights for any music, footage, images, or third-party material you include.
• You represent that your content and use do not infringe others' rights or break the law.

4. AI features & accuracy

The Service includes AI features (the editing agent, footage understanding, transcription/captions, and text-to-speech). To provide them, content you choose to process is sent to third-party AI providers as described in our Privacy policy.

• AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unexpected. It is provided for your assistance only — review it before relying on, publishing, or distributing it.
• We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, fit for a particular purpose, or free of third-party rights. You are responsible for the final content you produce and publish.
• AI features are optional and may change, or be limited, over time.

5. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Amazon Web Services (Bedrock AI models, hosting), OpenAI / Microsoft Azure (text-to-speech), Stripe (payments), Google/Firebase (auth), and Pexels and Freesound (stock footage and sounds). Your use of features that involve them is also subject to their terms. Stock and sound results are supplied under the applicable third-party licence; you are responsible for complying with those licences in your exports.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
• Upload content you don't have the rights to, or that is illegal, defamatory, or abusive;
• Create sexual content involving minors, non-consensual, deceptive "deepfake", or other content that violates the law or others' rights;
• Circumvent, reset, or abuse usage limits — including creating multiple accounts, or using automation or multiple devices, to exceed free-tier allowances;
• Reverse engineer, resell, or overload the Service, or interfere with its security.

We may limit, suspend, or terminate access for breach of these Terms or suspected abuse.

7. Plans, billing & refunds

• Free plan — available with monthly usage limits on AI features. We may change these limits to keep the Service sustainable.
• Pro subscription — a recurring subscription billed in advance through Stripe (monthly or yearly). It renews automatically until cancelled.
• Cancellation — you can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which it does not renew.
• Refunds — except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded. UK/EU consumers may have a statutory cancellation right; by starting a subscription you agree we may begin providing the Service immediately.
• Price changes — we may change prices; changes apply to the next billing period after notice.
• Applicable taxes may be added.

8. Availability & your data

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Projects and media are stored primarily in your browser and can be lost if you clear browser data — export anything important. We are not able to recover locally stored projects.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all AI output are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as, for UK consumers, certain statutory rights).

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, content, or goodwill;
• Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or GBP 100.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in that case the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any third-party rights or laws.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) continue.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We'll change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
